Laurie's Story
After retiring from a career in figure skating, Laurie earned a degree in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley where she went on to work with foster children in the San Francisco/Bay Area. This is where she found her calling to work with hurting people. After moving to Ohio, she became involved in prison ministry/chaplaincy through various non-profit ministries. Her work with at risk women has spanned the past 20 years and inspired her passion in trauma work. This passion led her to earn her graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling from Grace College. She believes the integration of her faith, her educational training and years of experience can bring hope and healing to those who struggle with the everyday struggles of life.
Laurie has been married for 21 years and enjoys spending time traveling with her family and learning about anything that interests her professionally and personally.
