Mark Loomis, MA LPCC
Mark joins Renew with 9 years of counseling experience. Mark is very passionate about being used as a catalyst by the Holy Spirit to “Transform” others from the inside out. He feels there is no greater joy than seeing struggling individuals find healing, freedom, and abundant life. Counseling is Mark’s second career. His first career was being a public school teacher and coach. He also is an elder at his church, a small group Bible study leader, occasionally leads seminars, and at times has the honor of giving the Sunday message. Mark loves being a part of the Renew Counseling Ministries that are led by 4 amazing servant leaders.
Mark's Story

In high school, Mark decided that he would dedicate his life to making a difference in the lives of young people. Mark spent 35 years of his life teaching in the public-school system. He taught biology, math, and health, coached a variety of varsity sports, was the advisor of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and ran a non-profit karate dojo. His wife Jackie taught science classes at the same high school. The couple raised 3 children.
How Mark went from serving in the public-school system to serving at a counseling agency is quite a long, but remarkable story. Finding a dead friend, meeting an amazing clinician, finding healing at a counseling center, having his marriage restored, and experiencing transformation, led Mark to retire from teaching in 2013 and pursue a counseling degree. The rest is history. The God moments end-less. Mark now finds himself still making a difference in the lives of others, but in a different setting.

Mark enjoys spending time with Jesus, his wife Jackie, family, and friends. Mark also enjoys working out, listening to intriguing podcasts, and reading books that help him to think out of the box. The best part of each day is spent at night with his bride of 40 years as they share their day with each other, eat dinner, and watch their favorite shows on TV. Doing life together is a huge blessing for both of them. Serving together at Cornerstone Chapel is a very important part of their life too.
