Lizzie Miller
M.A. LPC
Lizzie comes to Renew from Ashland Theological Seminary where she received her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Receiving her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Mount Union, Lizzie has always had a passion for understanding the minds and experiences of each unique individual. Throughout her time at Renew, Lizzie has developed a love for numerous populations including children, adolescents, young and middle adults, and couples. Lizzie thrives off of the variety of approaches she gets to implement with each distinct demographic. Most of all, Lizzie enjoys the honor of hearing people’s stories and witnessing their journey to healing.
Lizzie recognizes the importance of giving clients the opportunity to integrate their personal spiritual worldview into the counseling experience. As a practicing Christian, she sees the way one’s beliefs, values, sense of purpose impact thoughts, behaviors and relationships. Regardless of religious background, humans seek to understand and make sense of their suffering. Spiritual integration can help clients clarify and process through complex human experiences. Lizzie helps facilitate these important conversations throughout the process of counseling.
Lizzie operates by the principle that all people are made in the image of God and have unique gifts and perspectives that they offer the world. Lizzie views companioning others in their struggles and journey towards healing as a sacred privilege. Lizzie is a lover of many things, but especially the serenity and reflection that nature brings. Although loyal to Ohio, she has a bucket list of national parks she’d love to visit. On relaxed days, Lizzie enjoys lounging in her house with her cats and husband. Lizzie’s favorite things are slow Saturday mornings, big breakfasts with her hubby, reading a variety of genres, and pensive talks with friends.
