Ingrid Monteith
M.A LPCC-S
Ingrid brings over 35 years of experience in private practice as a clinical counselor in Northeast Ohio to Renew Counseling Ministries. Guided by her life motto, “The journey is the reward,” she considers it a true privilege to walk alongside her clients as they pursue healing and personal growth. After recently concluding a long and meaningful part-time role as an elementary school counselor, Ingrid is excited to devote her full energy and time to supporting clients at Renew.
Ingrid grew up in a bilingual home in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she developed an early aspiration to become a counselor. She is deeply grateful for the gifts God has given her, which guide her in listening well, caring deeply, and supporting her clients with compassion and wisdom.
Her faith has been an important part of her life, shaped in part by her years in ministry, which helped establish a strong spiritual foundation. Ingrid attended Grove City College, where she met her husband, and later earned her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron.
After nearly 40 years of marriage, Ingrid’s husband passed away following a long illness. She is thankful for the life they shared and for the continued joy she finds in her children and grandchildren.
Ingrid loves being outside, tending her garden, walking in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, or participating each year in the Fall Hiking Spree. Having grown up in a musical home, she also enjoys playing the piano and values the role music plays in worship, emotional expression, and connection with others.
